Today we will be discussing how to use the HID Signo Keypad Card reader.
The HID Signo reader is equipped with a full backlit display in red light and may come in two different styles.
These will operate the same regardless of the style installed at your facility.
After approaching the keypad, input your pin code in the proper sequence. You should hear an audible beep after each key press.
Press the pound or hashtag button after you have input your pin code to confirm the code entry. The light should turn from red to green.
The HID Signo keypad reader is also equipped to read your HID fobs. Simply present your fob like you would with other card readers to gain entry. The light should turn from red to green if access is granted.
If you are not allowed access or have input the wrong code, the reader will not change colors and a failed access has occurred.
Here are some things you will want to pay attention to if a failed access occurs.
Every key press is followed by an audible beep. If an audible beep does not occur after a key press, notify your system administrator as soon as possible.
Be sure you are inputting the correct code.
Be sure you are pressing the pound or hashtag key after inputting the code.
If you make a mistake while inputting your code, press the pound or hashtag key to reset then try again.
If you are confident everything is correct and your access is denied, then please contact your system administrator and provide them with the date and time in which the failure occurred. This will help them narrow down the reason why the failure occurred.
